The MUSICA RARA collection welcomes a "new" composer from the 19th century: Gaetano Donizetti! Although he is already found in the catalogue before 2004, it was previously only in opera paraphrases by his contemporaries. Fulvio Caldini now presents a lovely little solo for oboe and piano (or harp?) in a first edition.

It is possible that this virtuoso piece had been conceived as part of a sonata. Although the completion of the fragmentary accompaniment goes far beyond the usual duties of an editor, Caldini has mastered this task with knowledgeability and an unerring sense of style.
